St Cross 335 for 5
Easton 202 for 14
St Cross win by 133 runs
This was our last league fixture of the season, against one of the strongest teams in the group. Easton won the toss and elected to field.
We bowled well, giving away just 15 wides, our lowest tally of the season. However, this compares to St Cross who gave away just 4 wides in the 20 over session.
Pete Burnand, lead our bowling attack, giving away just 5 runs, complemented by accurate bowling from our emerging year 2 stars of Adam Pugh and Ioan MCNaughton .
Jack Birch deserves a special mention, giving away just 9 runs, while collecting two catches and two run outs; not bad for a morning’s work. St Cross were kept to just 335 for 5 due to a fine team fielding effort.
Our batsman were up against a fine bowling attack throughout the innings. Despite losing four wickets in the first over, to some of the best bowling I have seen this season, we fought back to reach 202 for 14.
Pete Burnand reach 9 and Jasper Hanson 8. Well done to Adam Pugh and Alfie Cochrane who were the only pair not to give away wickets.
