Easton won the toss and elected to bat.
The opening pair Sam MacLeod and Daniel Claridge batted well with some good running between the wickets. Their score was only restricted in the final over when 3 wickets fell in quick succession. The dominant partnership between the third pairing of Jasper Hanson and Jack Birch increased the scoring with 3 finely struck boundries from Jasper. Hughie Lewis, Walter Burnand, Freedie Collins and Harry Sykes all batted well but wickets kept falling with some good fielding and catching from Fair Oak. Easton completed their innings scoring 219.
Easton needed to bowl extremely well to defend their total but a strong Fair Oak side took little time in reaching their target. Hughie Lewis was the pick of the Easton bowlers and the accuracy of his bowling led to him taking the only wicket of the innings. Fair Oak's final total of 328 showed the difference between the two sides.
A 'tough day at the office' for our young team who acquitted themselves well and will be back!
