Match report by Fred Trinder
Some great batting and bowling for Easton gives them first win of the season
Easton won the toss and chose to bowl first.
At first it seemed like a good call because Ted and Grant only gave away 7 runs in the first 4 overs, Ted bowling 2 maidens. The next bowling pair kept the score down and took the first wicket by Fred bowling an in-swinger.
The next pair, Ali and Sam, kept the bowling tight, with Ali bowling some quick away swingers. But it was Will R who took the next wicket, bowling out the Fair Oak batsman and Toby then joined the party with a wicket of his own. So Fair Oak had posted a positive total of 269 for 3.
Easton were in to bat and the first pair hit lots of runs including Ted who hit 14 runs off 3 balls and the next pair continued the rage. Fred hitting the boundaries and Will K keeping the score ticking along with some positive running. Ali and Sam also scored a few runs. Especially Sam who hit lots of 4’s and even one 6. The last pair, Will R and Toby, finished it off for Easton who claimed their first victory of the season by making a total of 284 for 7.
Player of the match: Sam, for his explosive batting.
Fred’s top tip: Always run positively by calling yes or no, sliding your bat in and also back up at the non-striker’s end.
