After a disappointing start to their season EMWCC 1st VI have gone to strength. Solid bowling performances and increasing confidence with the bat saw the team go into their Winchester and District League Match searching for their third consecutive victory. New signing Tom Arnold rejoined the team as did veteran wicket keeper Richard Vaughn as captain in Mark Dickety's absence due to injury. Vaughn lost the toss but was put into bowl with a solid attack and a swinging ball. Adam Kite and Tristan Newtens made yet another solid start and had excellent support from medium pacers Arnold and Jamie Martin as IBM Hursley slumped to 89 from their 12 overs.

Memories of the collapses from earlier in the season were put aside as Vaughn and Sam Dickety punished a lacklustre IBM bowling attack. Piercing the field to hit a barrage of back wall maximums; both quickly reaching their 25 run retirement cache. Arnold and Martin finished the match clinically in the 8th over as IBM were thrashed, losing by 6 wickets. A break in the season may hinder EMWCC's momentum going into the final games of the season but still with every chance of promotion, January will make or break EMWCC 1st VI's season.
