Eastons were at home for their penultimate match against Basingstoke & NH.
Their skipper called correctly and chose to bat on a drying wicket and in bowler friendly conditions. Ray Lockyer & Ed Wylde opened the bowling and soon had the batsman playing and missing. After 19 overs Basingstoke were 49 for 4 with Ray & Ed returning excellent figures of 10-1-30-2 and 9-3-15-2 respectively.
Ollie Freemantle and Rachel Carrick took over the bowling responsibility and both produced excellent spells with Oliie and Rachel returning figures of 7-0-27-1 and 8.3-1-15-3 respectively. Evergreen Trevor Yeates finished off their innings with 1 wicket for no runs off 2 overs!
Eastons found run making a little bit easier and after 19 overs were 63 for 2. Evergreen Martin Hall did exactly the job he was asked to do at the top of the order as he crafted an invaluable 38. Dave Ling contributed 11 and skip Trev Foreman 9 not out to help Eastons across the line, having lost 3 wickets in the space of 10 balls!
Eastons secured 21 points and Basingstoke 5 points from the match.
