In the absence of midweek skipper Mark Dickety through injury, Sam Dickety took the helm as a young E&MWCC side travelled to Tichbourne Park for their Tichbourne Trophy Quater Final Match. Dickety won the toss and elected to bowl. Kite and Carrick opened up, exhibiting good pace and agression. Carrick made the first breakthrough as the Tichbourne oversees attempted to assert himself. An unconvincing acquisition. Carrick was replaced by Stanbrook and Kite (2/18) , Jamie Banks. Stanbrook pushed the ball through well with good change ups forcing strait shots that were athletically mopped up by star fielder Dean Griffin. Banks soon dismissed the Tichbourne Aussie as he pulled a catch strait to Seb Stanard. Banks bowled superbly finishing with figures of 4/21. Zac Mitchchell bowled with good pace and bounce in the final overs as E&MWCC limited Tichbourne to 138 off of 20 overs.
In reply Dean Griffin and John Sparks started well. Sparks hitting well toward the long boundary and Griffin combing his stroke play and excellent eye to manoeuvre the field. Griffin fell first playing across the line as Sparks continued to dominate. Stanbrook came to the crease as he and Sparks kept the innings moving smoothly until Sparks was caught on the boundary. Sam Dickety pushed the ball around well until he was run out in the first of two dubious run out decisions. Jordon Banks was bowled for a golden and Zac Mitchell would follow a similar fate. Kite pushed the ball around well as Stanbrook continued to dominate hitting big shots down the ground and pushing twos. Kite was given run out by the same umpire as Dickety to completely extinguish E&MWCC's hopes of victory. Carrick and Jamie Banks showed good intent but E&MWCC fell 9 runs short, Dickety and Kite's run outs the difference in this contest.
