EMWCC Girls win!

Andover won the toss and asked EMWCC to bat first.

Ruby Lee & Mia White were the first pair and scored 28 runs without the loss of any wickets. This was a good start that set up the momentum for the rest of the side; Matilda Ashbee & Francesca Wheatley added impetus to the middle of the innings scoring 30 runs again without loss. All four Easton pairs batted to an impressive total of 296 without the loss of a single wicket and gave Easton a strong target to defend.

Andover and made a solid start - adding 19 runs for no wickets in the first 4 overs. The Easton bowlers then started to make inroads into the Andover team. Kitty Shropshire & Mia White each took a wicket in their spells - and only gave away 1 wide - a very tight few overs that put the Andover side under a lot of pressure. Catie Croft contributed with two run outs and excellent fielding from Maisie Corbett and Martha Powell added to the match situation. The Andover innings soon finished on 256 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.

Easton's solid batting - and strong bowling & fielding performance - had been too much for Andover and Easton won the game by 40 runs. Both teams contributed to a match played in good spirit - and demonstrating the best aspects of the development of girls junior cricket in Hampshire.
