Adam Kite and Zac Mitchell started well but gradually the Holybourne openers began to build momentum. At the start of the contest Holybourne were on top of the WildSports T20 league on run difference after thrashing Millers the previous week, beating them by 180 runs. Mitchell and Kite soon pegged them back as both looked threatening. After the opening pair removed the Holybourne openers Adam Carrick came on to terrorise the young Holybourne resistance, he claimed a well deserved 4 wickets with good support from Rachel Carrick who took a wicket and Ethan Brackstone.
E&MWCC fancied their chances. In reply, Ben Stanbrook and Dean Griffin started well. Stanbrook hit a volley of fours through mid-wicket before being bowled for 22. Sam Dickety edged through to the keeper and Mitchell was out for a golden'. Griffin was run out for a hard fought 14 consisting of some excellent stroke play. Kite batted for a quick fire 33 before he was bowled trying to finish of the match. Adam and Rachel Carrick batted intelligently to finish the game off, securing a vital win for E&MWCC Midweek XI and putting the side fully in contention for promotion.
